How To Make Your Everyday Easier With Your Toddler -Great Ideas for Parents

By Anna L

Sometimes things get a little stressful with your toddler in your everyday life. I understand how you feel; I have a busy little toddler at home. I felt the same way. But we came up with easy, fun ways to make our everyday life go smother. Now cooking is fun, boredom very rare and shopping a lot of fun. This is how we made our everyday easier with our toddler.

Toddler Kitchen Drawer - If you often have a "helper" in the kitchen, make one of the drawers hers/his. Put the kitchen wear in here (no sharp stuff), wooden spoons, measuring cups, plastic stuff, apron... This will keep your little "helper" busy in the kitchen, when you are. Also once in a while let her/him play with the pots, have them be drums, noisy but fun.

Christmas Every Other Week - A great way to make old toys feel like new is by putting some of them away. Get some big bins put your toys in there, keep one of the bins out and put one of them away. After a couple of weeks rotate the bins, you bring the "old" bins out and put the ones that you had out away. This is a great way for your toddler to discover their old toys over again.

Your Train Table Becomes a Jungle. If you have a train table at home, turn it in to something else. My son loves Lions and The Jungle so we turned his train table in to a jungle. We did it just by buying a piece of "grass". We got a piece of green "carpet" at the local hard wear store and laid that on top of the train table. He put his Diego House and Jungle set on there and whoola the train table turned in to a jungle.

Grocery Race - Are you having troubles with fussy toddlers grocery shopping? Make it a family fun activity. Bring your partner and other kids (if you have any) and challenge them on a Grocery Race. Divide up in two "teams" break the shopping list in half and RACE. The team that makes it to the check out first wins.

Display Front of The Book, Shelf - My toddler loves his books. We build him a book shelf, that you hang on the wall, where he displays the front of the books. (If you are no Bob The Builder, they sell the shelf at amazon.com and furniture stores.) He has about 10 of his favorite books up there. We put the shelf in a level where it is easy for him to reach the books. Displaying the books on a open shelf adds beautiful colors to his room. And best of all we no longer have all his books lying on the floor...
