Are you trying to come up with activities and ideas for your toddler to do, when you need to cook or clean? Is it hard to bring your toddler grocery shopping? Include them, they love it. They love being a part of what you are doing and they love helping. This is how you can turn your fuzzy toddler in to a little "helper"
1. Make grocery shopping fun! Give your toddler a grocery ad or a plain piece of paper. If you have an ad have her cut out or circle the things you need. She can this way create her own shopping list. When you bring her to the store have her help you find everything you need. Also make her in charge of remembering a couple of things like tomato and bread. My son always have the Chocolate milk on his list. This is a great way if your toddler is asking for a lot of things, and you have a hard time saying no. If they say I want ice cream or candy. Have them check the list and see if it is on there if it is not on the list do not get it.
2. The little helper in the kitchen. Simply have your toddler help you with everyday things. My son loves to help me in the kitchen. He stands on a kitchen chair and "overlook" my work, his favorite thing is the tasting partJ. I got him a little kids knife so if I chop veggies he is right there helping me in his kitchen apron.
3. Water is also a lot of fun, have your toddler help you with the dishes, preferable a couple of plastic coups. I am sure you have a dishwasher but it is a great way to entertain your toddler.
4. Let your toddler help you put clothes in the dryer. It usually turns in to "I do it", so be patient. She can even help you fold the clothes.
5. Use the vacuum cleaner to chase "ants". One of my fun memories growing up was chasing "ants" (crumbs and dirt) on the floor. Make it exciting for your toddler and have her find the "ants" for you. I know it is not every time you actually have the time to have your toddler help you, but once in a while take your time and share your tasks with your little one.
